2024 Ford Ranger: One Year Experience
I purchased my 2024 Ford Ranger one year ago, and I am happy to report that all is well. Once I resolved the vibration concern in the early months of ownership, I have experienced zero problems with the truck. That’s great, as I have been able to spend more time personalizing it.
Since my eight month update in July, I have continued to play around with the truck. That’s the fun part of ownership, which can be done with any vehicle of any age. In fact, the key purpose of this website is to show you how to make car ownership more fun and rewarding through inexpensive modifications.
For my one year update, I am sharing the current status of the Ranger, followed by the past articles that detail all of the changes performed. Please keep in mind, every modification made is reversible. Within two hours, I can return this truck to look like the day I bought it. This may come in handy when I sell or trade it in.
Current Ranger Status
The Ranger currently has 11,000 miles, and is running and driving great. While I have covered a lot of updates and modifications during the past year, there are some important points to make:
- The average fuel economy is 22 mpg. This is a combination of city and highway driving.
- The truck remains squeak and rattle free. This is remarkable, considering my history with GM, MINI and Subaru vehicles.
- I am currently running with Michelin Defender tires mounted on the stock Ranger wheels. Once it is time to rotate them, I will install the original Goodyear Wrangler tires that are mounted on the green Bronco wheels (see Wheel Color: Green Is The New Black for more details).
With winter approaching, my vehicle modifications will slow down. It’s OK to slow things down, as I am very happy with the Ranger as-is. It is a joy to drive and very handy for hauling other projects.

Overall, the Ranger has been an excellent vehicle and I am pleased with my purchase. Other than the vibration issue in the beginning (noted in the 60 day upate), it has been problem-free. More importantly, it has been fun to drive and customize. Be sure to follow along as I share all of the changes to come!
