Camaro Graphics And Trim Ideas

This is going to sound like the beginning of a support group meeting: I’m a big fan of vinyl wrap. It’s a great material to create a custom graphic for your car, and is relatively cheap to buy (my favorite is VVIVID Vinyl from Amazon). Since it is also easy to install and remove, it is the ideal material for people who seek a new look for their car on a regular basis!
In past articles, I’ve detailed different graphic designs on a number of cars. While my latest focal point is the Chevrolet Camaro, every car can benefit from vinyl graphics. For those of you seeking inspiration for your own project, perhaps one of my many designs will help.

Hood/Fender Graphics
Your vehicle’s hood is the largest blank slate on the car. When it comes to the Camaro, two models (LS and LT) have a plain hood. The LT1, SS and ZL1 have a hood vent. In all cases, vinyl graphics can be used to add even more style.
Camaro LS and LT Trims
These two models have no hood vent, so the graphic options are limitless. I have tried several different designs over the past year, which I’ll show in chronological order:

Camaro LT1, SS and ZL1
These have the same hoods with a functional vent toward the front of the car. The car below belongs to my friend. We tried the blue carbon fiber vinyl originally, but he grew tired of the bright look.

His Camaro is a convertible with a black roof, so we felt a satin black graphic worked better on his car. While we installed the black hood graphic, we also added door stripes. Those stripes were made for a Mustang, but we cut the MUSTANG name out of the stripe and added CAMARO lettering found on Etsy.

Emblems
Other trim items can also add a custom look to your car. That can include emblems, spoilers, wheels/tires and hood scoops/vents. I prefer updates that are reversible, so I avoid permanent modifications like spoilers and hood scoops that require cutting or drilling into the body. This makes it easier to sell, if your special touches can be reversed.
After all the attention I placed on the hood and fender graphics, I felt the grill and rear quarter of my car needed a little added touch. During one of my morning scans of eBay, I found some Type LT emblems from a 1974 Camaro that fit the bill.
They were well worn, so I touched them up with paint and a hobby brush. They were affixed using 3M emblem tape, which allows them to be removed with a little heat.

Prior to the addition of the Type LT emblems, I added these Audi “2.0 T” emblems to the hood and rear bumper (my car has the 2.0L turbo engine). You can buy them on Etsy, Amazon or eBay for about $15 each.

Final Thoughts & Questions
As you can see, I changed the exterior look of my car several times in a one year period. Am I finished? Not likely. Change is a constant with me, so look for more inspiration in the future.
