Wheel Wash Mitts

We are finally getting a stretch of good weather in Michigan, so I can give my vehicles a good wash and detail.  Even though I was diligent about washing my cars every week during the winter, things like wheels did not get the full attention they deserved.  That changed today as I tried out my new favorite detail tool:  the Wheel Wash Mitt.

I first saw the wheel wash mitts on TikTok, but I am cautious about ordering anything through the TikTok shop.  Instead, I seek out similar items through traditional sites.  When it comes to car wash tools and supplies, you can’t beat Griot’s Garage.

For just $11.99, I was able to buy a pack of two Microfiber Wheel Wash Mitts.  I just used one of them today and found them very effective.  These uniquely designed four-fingered mitts are perfect for cleaning any wheel surface.

I found that the compact design let me get my hand around the wheel spokes and all around the rim.  They worked just as well scrubbing the tires, too.

You can find similar wash mitts for wheels (like the one above) at other sites like Amazon, Walmart and various vehicle detailing suppliers. The ones from Griot’s Garage are slimmer, better made and easy to use.

Final Thoughts

I have been washing and detailing cars since the late 1970s, so I have tried a lot of tools.  The mitts allowed me to give my wheels a thorough cleaning with minimal effort.  After using this for the first time today, I can honestly say this is my favorite car detailing tool.
